The Final Fantasy XIV's annual celebration of the holiday season, appropriately named Starlight Celebration, has been announced today by Square Enix, ensuring that the usual cheer and joy that accompanies the seasonal event arrives in full force.
From this Friday, December 15, and running until the end of this month, on December 31, a holiday-themed mission line will be available for players to try out as they did in previous years. It can be initiated by talking to Amh Garanjy and starts at the amphitheater in Gridania. The event requires players to reach level 15 at least.
Unfortunately, though there are no skins rewarded this time around, Starlight Celebration more than makes up for it by offering players a flying bear mount dressed like Santa upon successful completion of the quest. Users who ride the mount can throw out gifts that explode into pretty snowflakes upon impact. If this does not sound like the most Christmas-y thing, I do not know what it is.
Players will also be gifted two desktop decorations, a mini-Christmas tree, a poster, and an orchestration roll for their efforts, the likes of which probably includes the adorable Starlight Celebration theme we have all grown to love.
For those who are curious about how the game is faring in 2017, Final Fantasy XIV released its latest expansion Stormblood this past summer, adding more jobs, gear, and changes to the MMO’s battle system. The good news is that, with so many lower-level guilds finally at Argus, the veil has been lifted on how his encounter actually plays out. Generallly Speaking, competitive Mythic raiders will not give up their attempts for fear of having their strategies poached by rival guilds. That makes sense, but it also means that WoW's raid races happen entirely off camera - and that's not that fun for us casuals along for the ride.
Fortunately, two Chinese guilds have begun to share their attempts to bring down Argus, letting us know why no one has succeeded. The video below shows the transition into Argus' first secret phase, during which, he kills the entire raid but they are revived thanks to Eonar, a friendly titan, who raiders save in an earlier encounter. Once the raid is back up, Argus' abilities completely change his Normal and Heroic versions.
If you want to see some other attempts by Chinese Guilds, you have to cover JTHMrZhou. His guild can only managed to get Argus down to 56% of HP, so they still have a long way to go.
There are rumors saying that there is another secret phase to battle through, but only the top-tier guilds like Limit, Method, and Exorcus are likely to know about it - and their lips are sealed.
Yesterday, the Method's guild leader Sco took to Twitter to talk about the difficulty spike that comes with fighting Argus.That is hilarious.
The bad news is that no one will beat Argus until tomorrow, as the raid resets and guilds have to restart from the first boss. The good news is that by running old bosses a second time, the guilds will get even more loot which should help them overcome any hurdles stemming from being even slightly undergeared for the encounter. It has been a long time since the raid boss survived a weekly reset, but I hope Argus ends up torturing these guilds for a little longer, if only to make the inevitable victory more dramatic.

Madden 18 Update 1.08 Adds A Major New Feature And More Things
Madden NFL 18 update 1.08 is available now.
Months after the release of Madden NFL 18 in August, EA Sports continues to update and expand the game. Now the game's newest update - Update 1.08 is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, adding a major new feature and online stability improvements, and more other things.
The big new feature is called "Audibles on the Fly." As the name suggests, this allows players to make a change to an audible at any point when they are on offense or defense. EA says it will provide a further level of strategy for advanced-level players. The idea is that you'll be able to make faster adjustments when you see how the other side is queuing up.
You can access the "Audibles on the Fly" feature by selecting Plays from the Play Call screen. The following is a brief description written by EA about how the system works:
"Once you have selected a formation and are at the Play Call screen, simply press LT/L2 to bring up the Replace Audible menu. The replace audible menu shows the list of audibles that are currently set for the selected formation. It’s easy to use:
While at the replace audible menu, select what play in the audibles list you want to replace
Once a play is selected from the Replace Audible menu, you will then be taken to the replace play level of the Play Call screen where you can select the play you want to add to the active list of audibles for that set to replace your previous selection.
Once audibles have been selected, users will return to the primary Play Call screen to select the next huddle play. After breaking the huddle, users will have access to all of the new audibles via the audibles menu at the line of scrimmage for the current set."
EA also pointed out that you can always use an Audible on the Fly as many times as you want in the game, while you can not call an Audible on the Fly for formations that cannot be audible-d such as Wildcat. EA also confirmed that the upcoming Audibles on the Fly will work with all Madden 18's game modes including Ultimate Team.
The new Madden 18 patch also makes general gameplay changes and fixes some of the lag that could occur in the Play Call screen.

Now, the top World of Warcraft guilds are scrambling to be the first to defeat the “mythic” difficulty final boss of the game’s Legion expansion, a giant, Protoss-looking motherfucker named Argus, The Unmaker. Many people thought he would be a pushover, but after nearly five days of exhausting attrition, no one knocked him down so far. It will be a big deal as being part of the raid to solve the puzzle. According to Limiting Officer Jeathebelle, a healer in the guild named Adois was stuck on the bench, but really wanted to come in. Jeathebelle claimed that Adois intended to scratch fellow healers’ IP addresses, DDOS them, and take their place when they suddenly and mysteriously fell off the internet.
Jeathebelle wrote on Twitter (via PCGamesN): “We only found out because Adois was begging a healer to click his shorted URL link, so we checked out the link and it redirected to an IP scraper.”
“Earlier that night, the only healer who had clicked the link had disconnected on mumble, discord, and game.” Jeathebelle said they became suspicious when Adois appeared at the right time to claim the newly-open raid spot.
Jeathebelle also pointed out that the guild then found evidence that Adois had been doing this for some time, going back to at least Tomb Of Sargeras, an earlier Legion raid. He was kicked out from the guild since then, with Limit members publicly advising other top guilds to steer clear of him.
So far, Adois has not yet responded to these allegations or his removal from the guild.

NBA 2K18 Handshakes Live Action Trailer Released
Handshakes is the new live-action trailer for NBA 2K18. It stars a young boy on his way to the playground to shoot some hoops. He runs among a bunch of people in his neighborhood, many of which are NBA stars. This is an introduction to The Neighborhood, a brand new game mode that you will be able to play in NBA 2K18.
2K Games has released a new NBA 2K18 live-action trailer named Handshakes. And, well, it pretty much delivers on what the name suggests. The video follows a young boy running through his neighborhood, through a bar, a tattoo shop and other places. On his way, he runs into a bunch of friends, which turns out that they are all NBA stars. He exchanges a different handshake with each of them, and each more elaborate than the last. As the young boy says, it is just another day in the neighborhood.
Basically, the purpose of the whole trailer is to introduce you to the concept of The Neighborhood, a new game mode in NBA 2K18. The Neighborhood will be a social space for players to come to and hang out. You can check out the tattoo shop and barber shop to change the appearance of your player, listen to music at the record store, meet NPCs and other players and so on. Of course, you can also compete against the others in The Playground.
If you want to take a taste of NBA 2K18 and The Neighborhood, you already can do it. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One provide a playable demo called The Prelude. Any progress you make will carry over to the full game once it releases on September 19, 2017. If you decide to buy it, of course.

As for the future of the server, it seems that Gummy52 has done much with it, as he said: “The only thing stopping Blizzard from harassing me with court dates and whatever else is their decision to not to. It’s no skin off their nose if they decide to play games with me and I don’t think anyone is going to crucify them for it if they did. Here we are and there’s nothing I can do.”
