Blizzard Admitted That Some of The World of Warcraft Classes Feel Too Similar

Over the years, Blizzard's World of Warcraft has added some new classes that give players more options when they tackle raids or player-versus-player content, but some players have started to mix them together - as their unique features have not been made to be obvious enough. According to an update post from Blizzard, one area they are trying to focus on all classes is to better emphasize what makes each class unique and offers greater distinction among their various capabilities, especially when it comes to utility - tools that fall outside of core role functions like damage, healing, or mitigation. With so many classes bringing similar abilities, the feeling is eroded and you feel that you are seldom offering something distinctive.

To make a clearer distinction between mages, warlocks, and priests from each other in the future, Blizzard will add new abilities and will also bring back the older ones that had previously been removed. Other abilities, including area-of-effect stuns, can also be removed from certain classes to make other classes more useful.

Similar changes are being made to the overall roles the classes play. Although hunters, mages and rogues can all do harm to the target, Blizzard wants them to be aware that some classes only focus on bursts of damage instead of a sustained volley. The new quests will be introduced with advantages given to these different archetypes, as well.

Changes are also arriving to the Artifact items introduced in the last Legion expansion. The team understands that once these were eventually removed, the classes will be difficult, but the team is getting a new class bonuses in through the use of "Azerite Armor."

“That said, various specs will likely see one or two familiar traits from Artifcats showing up in their talent trees in Battle for Azeroth,” Blizzard added.

World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth attributed the game's focus to the ongoing war between the Alliance and the Horde. This expansion features a new level cap of 120 as well as “allied races” and two new playable continents. A new cooperative “Waterfront mode” and a randomized “Uncharted Island” should help to keep players coming back until the next expansion is released inevitable.
