The Final Fantasy XIV’s producer and director Naoki Yoshida wished all the fans a happy New Year with clues of what is to come on the official Lodestone, and the director expressed his thanks to fans in New Year message with some promises for upcoming DLC.
According to the popular online video game's official website, Yoshida wished fans had enjoyed their festivals. And he predicted that most of the fans will play games and adventures in the Eorzea world. He said the development team also enjoyed some time in Tokyo a few months ago after the Fan Festival.
Yoshida said that when he played online video games again, he likes to going around to get new mounts, trying to collect more weapons and chatting with his friends. He revealed that playing in a laid-back way was one of the little pleasures of his life.
The game director recalled what happened last year in video games and the different accomplishments they've accomplished. He said they had completed the story of the Dragonsong War that began on the Heavensward expansion, as well as how they created new experiences, such as the deep dungeon. He believes that last year was one of the years that they were able to tackle new challenges, while continuing to provide players with a good experience.
In the message, Yoshida mentioned on the two Fan Festivals that have taken place in both Last Vegas and Tokyo, as well as what they have achieved in the game during 2016.He pointed out that by providing another major expansion is a sign that video games have become stable and prosperous, which will also give them more time and resources they need to bring more new adventures.
At this point, they are now almost completed in polishing the new additions that will be increased inboth Part 1 and Part 2 of patch 3.5, The Far Edge of Fate. They are now cleaning up the bugs and fixing some mistakes before launching the new patch.
In addition, Yoshida shared a cryptic message that was conveyed to him by a “strange hooded man,” as well as some special artworks celebrating the New Year, Yoshida dressed as Red Mage, newly confirmed work as the upcoming expansion of the game, Stormblood, Released in June 2017.
In other Final Fantasy related news, director Hajime Tabata wrote a New Year message on Square Enix's official blog. He thanked the fans for their support over the years, and he decided that this year would be a year of giving back to everyone. He promised that they will continue to update "Final Fantasy XV" and release the new DLC.
